Herbal treatments or medicine??

Question: are you a fan of chinese herbs have any of worked what are your experience of herbal teas etc or would you just resort back to modern medicine?
Answers: i think Irish medicine is just perfect..what say..???
modern medicine is the greatest
Herbs are far superior to the pharmaceuticals. I would never go back to conventional medicine. It made me sicker than I already was.
I havent tried HErbs. I went to India and had a full Ayurveda massage and felt on top of a mountain and then bought facials and a cucumber masque for a fraction of the price and brilliant. I would recommend alternative medicine and therapy to modern westerns science any day
Modern medicine is good, try pot, it works for EVERYTHING.
It depends on the ailment..... For simple colds, flu, minor infections and what not I heal twice as fast through alternative healing. However there are certain medications I take for certain conditions and for more complicated issues, research isn't an alternative to lab tests or x-rays for an accurate diagnosis. I think it's a balance of being opened-minded and smart and doing your homework before treating anything- big or small.
i rely on modern medicine for most things, but i am slowly turning to eastern treatments for more things now. i find that most herbal specialists know more of the little things that are important. my son had scarlet fever and when i asked the herbalist about it, she said to avoid putting water anywhere on his body, as it can prevent the infection from coming out. the doctor didn't tell me about this, but when i told her what the herbalist said, she said that it was right, and that she had forgotten to tell me! i also love some of the products available for cold and flu from the east. tiger balm is my favorite!!!
There is no scientific evidence to support many complementary therapies including Chinese medicine. It is important to use such unorthodox therapies in conjunction with conventional medicine. However, many people claim that such therapies have beneficial effects which cannot be dismissed. I feel it is important to make sure that the therapy whether conventional or complementary is practised by a qualified practitioner as there are many charlatans professing all sorts of claims in the name of medicine and thus exploiting sometimes vulnerable people.
I would definitely stick with herbal medicine and use modern medicine in an emergency only. The medical profession intentionally does not promote herbal medicines because it won't put money in their own pockets. I know from experience that herbs work better and faster than antibiotics. Butcher's broom is one of them. It has no negative or life-threatening side affects either. It can be taken in capsule form. I've used it for fever blisters and abcessed tooth. (I still have the tooth after 4 years and I was told by a dentist it would have to come out) It has helped clear up thrush in a new born (tiny bit sprinkled on the tongue) along with a capsule (tiny bit sprinkled again) of acidopholus. I have seen cauliflower-like growths shrink and disappear by rubbing pure castor oil in it every night for a couple of weeks. I have shrunk a tumor by taking red root (New Jersey Tea, ceanothus americanus) in capsule form. I read some books to get my start: Back To Eden by Jethro Kloss, Indian Herbalogy of North America by Alma R.Hutchins and Vermont Folk Medicine by Dr. Jarvis. Then I've read Hulda R. Clark's books and Kevin Trudeau's books. Look on the internet for them (also available in book stores and health food stores) I have used gingko and I know it works. When you read the history of hebal medicines versus modern medicines, it will surprise you. And some of the people behind the worst foods offered to us on the grocery store shelves will be a shock to you. It makes me really upset that we the American public are being lied to by the higher ups in our society--all for the sake of MONEY in THEIR OWN pockets! I've said enough.
I was always one for the modern version. Now I am slowly turning to alternative ones. I no longer take tablets as much as I use to and I am feeling a lot better, so there must be something in them.
you can go for plant based food supplements of http://www.nutrilite.com and http://www.nutrilite.com has global turnover of usd 4 billion and READER DIGEST has awarded this company the best company in ASIA region
Chinese herbs worked for me, for a while, and I think they are worth trying.

The only thing I'd say, though, is make sure you go to a reputable chain; if you're in the UK, then Herbal Inn seem good. Do make sure you only get the dried herbs, though, from the jars - don't be pushed into buying expensive pills and drinks!

If alternative methods don't work, or if the problem worsens, then definitely return to conventional medicine.
I only use natural medicines -- modern medicines and prescriptions have so much junk in them -- I really believe that it is all of the prescriptions and stuff that create other illnesses -- you take a prescription for one thing and then turn around and have to get another prescription for something else and then you are taking so many that none of them work -- because your body is like what the heck is going on God gave us an immune system for a reason -- let it do it's job!!
i tried Chinese herbs and tea and must say it was awful. the problem were the teas and my stomach couldn't hold it. but that was just me and am in no way dismissing it. i do believe in natural remedies and alternative medicine. conventional medicine is great too...its just the politics behind it that sickens me. the idea of combining the two can do wonders for those who have diseases. i didn't resort back to modern medicine but instead looked for alternatives. thankfully, i found a homeopathic Dr who is treating my illness with both and i am doing great and on the road to recovery. okay that's my 2 cents.
not chinese medicine but homepathy I def. believe in & worked for me anyways, provided you find a good homeopath.
Depends if you don't really want to get better from a condition use the herbs.
It depends on the ailment and the person!! I would always advise medical advise for major problems but alternative medicine is very effective for many ailments and doesn't mess up the body. They will not harm you so always try first. I take EP oil for hormonal problems and glucosimine for arthritus and cartilage problems and both have worked for me. Hope this helps.
