What remedy is good for a bladder infection other than drinking water, and cranberry juice.??

Question: is there something will help with a bladder infection other than drinking water, or cranberry juice? is ther any home remedys out there that someone knows about? thank-you
Answers: If you are VERY sure it is a bladder infection, and not just irritation, Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim ( bactrim) is a sulfa drug that is prescribed for a UTI. I was prescribed SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 one tab twice daily ( evenly spaced 12 hrs apart) by mouth for 7 days. I get it once or twice a year and this clears it up for me when I can't beat it myself with lots of water. cranberry powder mixed with water ( no sugar ) Alka seltzer or otc AZO for pain. I know, UTI's are no fun, and I can truly sympathize with you. Mannose sugar did not help me. Stay clear of coffee, tea, alcohol or sugary foods or drinks. I get the sulfa drug over the net in a Canada Pharmacy without prescription because I know exactly what it is, and what helps me, and I have no meds coverage to speak of, so this is much cheaper way to go for me, not to mention convenient. Uti's are caused about 85 % of the time by E-coli ( from feces) getting into the urinary tract. (More women get them than men. ) Being very careful about bathroom habits can be helpful, as wearing loose clothing, urinating after intercourse, and cotton underwear. If it is a true bladder infection, you really need an anti-biotic, ( you don't want it to back up into the kidneys ) If it is an irritation, you might be able to beat it with the water, cranberry juice etc. As a preventive, a glass of cranberry juice taken in the morning and at night is enough to keep the bacteria under control. And up your water intake. Good luck.
Learn to like plain yogurt because of the acidopholis. You can mix with berries to make it taste better if you don't like the plain, and the berries will be beneficial to the cure. Acidopholis capsules are available in the cooler at your local health food store, but they are expensive. Do not get sugary yogurt, as the sugar may increase yeast production, and an abundance of yeast could be the cause of the bladder infection. For the same reason lay off alchol, bread (more yeast) and other sweets for a while and do push the water thing.
I use vinager pills. I am unable to have too much sugar so this works for me.
Going to your doctor for an antibiotic. Any acidic juices will help, also eat yogurt, but I would still suggest seeing your doctor.
The Holistic remedy is D-Manose. You can get it at your local health store. The university of Maryland did a study on this and they say that it works.
It's called, go to the doctor and get an antibiotic!!!
An Objewa medicine woman name Patty Massell recommended a quart of leadplant tea. It's hard to find unless you have access to prairie, but here it grows like a weed. A quart of leadplant tea over the course of a day seems to clear any bladder infection for me.

Bladder infections are serious things, though. I would recommend a trip to the doctor right away.
You can get cranberry supplements at almost any store (Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc). These are basically like drinking cranberry juice though more concentrated. These are helpful at the very beginning stages, though not helpful after the infection in full blown. You need to get antibotics for this to prevent the Urinary Tract Infection to spread to the kidneys. If this happens you will need to be hospitilized and have IV antibiotics.
Also avoid sugar and caffiene which are irritants to the bladder. If you have pain during urination there are OTC pills that help soothe the pain though beware they make the urine orange and it does stain the toilet.
I have read of drinking vinager when you have a bladder infection as a home remedy and it has worked for me in the past
Jasmine tea you can get this in any chinese super market
Cranberry juice pills can help it get better, lots of water can help keep urine diluted so it feels better, asprin can help the pain, the other anti-heartburn meds can help the pain too (they change Ph of urine)...if you can't get antibiotics prescribed you might consider homeopathics.

There are several sights that can help guide you to the correct remedy. My daughter has used homepathic phosphorus, and my sister has used homeopathic staphysagria, cantharis has worked for me.

The correct remedy depends on the symptoms and the cause. If you get infection after being very angry...try staphysagria. If it seems do to irritation caused by intercourse try cantharis or causticum.

Get a homeopathic doctor. The right remedy can cure an infection in hours rather that a day or two of the antibiotics.

Good luck.
Back in 1973 I was very prone to Bladder infections. The local doctor told me if I would drink NOTHING but water & carnberry juice everyday for 3 months I would be cured. I followed it faithfully.
I have never had 1 since.
try craisins. they are dried cranberries that you can find on the raisin isle, they actually taste better than raisins and they don't have the nasty side effects that cranberry pills can have!! (I was allergic to the beef gelaton that they use in some of the supplements and broke out in painful hives!)
try yogurt with an active bacteria Or for myself i find a beer with lots of barley hops is really good.
If you are a non-alcoholic person, try green clay. It is great! It helped and helps me. Check this page:
