Question for women. toothache or child birth? I was to;d today that toothache is worse. What do you think??

Answers: I would imagine if both were drug free that toothache would be worse. I have had six children, the first boy (9lb 30z) was excrutiatingly painful even though i had everything i could including an epidural, nothing worked!! when baby no 2 came along i decided no drugs! and knew that it was the fear of the unknown that caused me to suffer more than i needed too!! i did have some etinox but i coped, after that the other four were managable without anything, and yes i do have big pain!! especially with a very high birth canal- when i was expecting number five a doctor told me i needed a c-section as the birth canal was set high!! i told him no thanks- i've had four normal births already!! I had a broken tooth-the large one next to my top wisdom tooth gap, the pain when it went through to the nerve was awful!! and then instead of two roots it had grown three curled around each other and this took some pulling!!! leaving a massive hole that tore along as it was wrenched out of the gum!! this was definately more painful than my self controlled births!! the biggest pain i have ever experienced , which believe me beats both the aforementioned things was the time i was eighteen, pillion on my boyfriends (now hubby) motorbike when we were smashed into by a car that was racing another car jumping through traffic lights!! my leg was smashed into the bike with the helmet lock ripping an artery in my leg, then i was thrown onto the second car windscreen smashing that and being thrown onto the road. my helmet was split and stuck into my head, my lower leg was ripped open and spewing blood, my left femur was completely broken requiring surgery and full bone inner pinning 15 long pin (i have it at home to remind me how lucky i was)! as well as my leg being bust the ligaments were badly ripped. when i awoke on the road with the ambulance staff controlling my bleeding, the pain i experienced was out of this world- so much so that i kept blacking out with the pain even whilst i was heavily medicated- this pain continued for some two weeks before i could deal with it by staying awake and then the strong painkillers only lasted for half an hour!!! childbirth was definately the least painful of the three things i have mentioned, and that is delivering six babies all around the 9lb mark each!
I think that would have to be one hell of a toothache.
Both VERY painful--but a different type of pain...and at least with childbirth something wonderful comes from all that intense pain!
Childbirth definately. I wanted to die there and then! I had 2 horrendous labours though. Both so worth every single second of agony.
Whoever told you that probably had an epidural through their whole labor and delivery.
There is no pain like childbirth, none whatsoever!
well they both hurt and after some considerable tugging and pulling the pain can be relieved.
But i must say toothache is worse as you dont get a lovely baby for the agony!
One strong memory I still have from childbirth is swearing that I would never complain about a toothache again.
I guess it was a man that told you that!!
I'm imagining the worst toothache ever...but then 72 hours of labor was no cake walk.
I just can't answer it. It's 6 one way and half a dozen the other.
I'd rather have a toothache any day I have two kids both natural no drugs- wouldn't want it any other way wasn't that bad its not having the kid that hurts it the contracting of the uterus OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll bet it was a man with a toothache who told you that!!

NO WAY. No comparison.
Look at the size of a nine pound baby and how it has to fit through a very tight opening. Thats pain. A toothache is a walk in the park compared to that.
must have been a man told you that childbirth definately worse. but definately worth it
id rather give birth than have a tooth ache. give birth with epidural that is... epidural numbs the heck outta me!
both the same...... hurt like hell at the time but as soon as the tooth/baby is out you forget just how bad the pain was!!!!
Definitely a toothache...

Mouth pain is the worst! It seems to affect your entire body and mind.

At least the childbirth pain is short-lived and one seems to miraculously 'forget' about the pain once the baby is held...

Go figure.

:)
i would say that a toothache would not b worsa x
Must have been a man. If men had the babies the world would soon be underpopulated. 5 children later I can say it hurts plenty but it IS worth it
I would much rather go through childbirth, you get a beautiful baby at the end of childbirth, toothache is sooooo painful and you get nothing out of it.
No way, 1st you got the pain of childbirth then you got bloody 18yrs pain in the a..se, saying that my kids are 31, 26 and 21 and they still pain in the a..se
Open your mouth as wide as you can ,then with your fingers start to pull as hard as you can until you tare your mouth Then multiply the pain by 10 and then try to keep it up for 7 to 48 hours That will give you some idea of the pain of childbirth.
I would say its a tie. I was induced and the contractions were coming every 30 seconds for an hour and a half and before I had an epideral it was the worst pain of my life untill I had a toothache, that affected my neck, ear, and head, even my shoulder until I had it fixed. So that is a hard one
You're just winding us up.
I'd rather go through child birth again any day, than have tooth ache. It's horrendous, it makes grown men weep.
it had to be a man that asked this /which is worse for you trapping your manhood in your zip or having a ragnail
Paul try having all your teeth pulled out without an anaesthetic, that's just 1 percent of child birth
the only pain i have experienced that is worse than childbirth, is kidney stones!! i have had children and kidney stones, and i would rather sit in labor than have to go thru passin more stones! the difference between stones and labor, is at least with labor you get breaks from the pain.. with stones, its 100% pain, 100% of the time you have them.. no relief! was given 3 shots of demoral, and it didnt even come close to touching the pain!
Toothache, for sure. In fact, when the dentist inadvertently hurts me, or the novocaine wears off he asks, Am I hurting you? . I always answer, Well, it's not childbirth! I might add a had a horrible labor with my son in the wrong position; not breech, but sideways. Ouch!
