When you first get your braces can you still clean them? will it hurt??
Question: Please answer im getting braces on January 8 i need to be ready for whatever im up against *gulp*
Answers: Can you still clean them? Not sure what you mean by that.
Very important to keep your braces as clean as possible so get used to brushing and rinsing more than you might be used too. Braces are a major pain in the beginning but you will get used to them. They will hurt your teeth a bit and you will get your share of blisters inside your lip, but you will get quickly accustomed to it.
Best advice: do EXACTLY what your orthodontist says to do. The more you follow instructions the quicker you will get the braces off. And when you get them removed, you will be, Im sure, very pleasantly surprised how much better you will look!
Yes, you still clean them, and they're gonna be a hassle, my mouth hurts incredibly bad right now, but yes you still have to clean them, and brush them many times a day.
My 8yo got braces this past year. There are special flosses that you use to clean them and make sure you brush very well. Also, avoid the foods that your orthodontist tells you not to eat. I think that is hardest for my son LOL! Now, as for the pain part. When they first put them on my son, he did complain that it hurt, but I gave him a little Tylenol, and it cleared up in a few days. They will adjust them every few months according to your schedule, and it will hurt, but minor pain that can be controlled by pain killers. But, it will be worth it for perfect teeth in the future!
Good Luck

No big deal. Yes you can still clean them. It takes a little longer though because you have to take your time to brush. Otherwise you'll still leave your teeth dirty and you'll get cavities, which is not a good thing. Your teeth will be sore for a while and you might be....... well, you will be in pain. It's totally worth it. When I first got mine I hated them and I wanted them out, but now I see the results and I love them. Which by the way you will start seeing results in about 3 weeks or so, but definitely by the first month. Don't worry, time flies and you'll have them off when you least expect it.
