Why do some people have Gold or Silver teeh??

Question: Can you request them or does the dentist recommend them?
Answers: I have two teeth at the back that have been crowned with gold caps, and two at the front that have been crowned with white caps. Wherever possible they put white at the front so that it looks more natural, and gold at the back where they are less likely to show. Silver ones are usually temporary crowns that are put on whilst the tooth is prepared for the crown or while the crown is made.

Teeh..? Muffin...You're being dyslexic again!!!!
They can't afford white ones!
People have gold and silver teeth because they have the cash to spend. Also, my guess is that they would need the structure of their teeth from their dentist so they can give it to the jewler who can make the right fit.
No taste!
Cause they think that there cool. And it shows that they have money. But after they buy them ugly a** things...there broke anyway. haha
I think they're mainly a cosmetic fixture, just as tattooed enamel is. In poorer countries or cultures, gold or silver teeth are/were a symbol of pecuniary wealth, just like you see all these idiot, tacky rappers with their blinged-out grills and gross fangs . My grandmother had gold tooth caps, but eventually got rid of them because one could tell she was a country bama and they messed with her oral health. They aren't recommended by dentist because they can damage other teeth in the mouth and cause gum disease, plus a nasty case of bad breath.
Lots of guys have them done when they are serving time in prison - my first husband had a gold front tooth done while he was serving time. It looked very CHAV xxxx
coz they dont hav a real one i think..and ya also to look rich ..
cos sum people dont have teeth & when they were put in white false teeth hadnt been invented
Vanity
What are teeh?
silver filling are made of amalgam and the most commonly used filling material, its cheep etc. gold filling are made at a lad like crowns and are a lot more expensive especially if made privatly. gold ones are lot more stronger. it is possible to ask for a gold one but alot of nhs dentists will not do them.
cause they wanna be GANGSTA!
These are crowns or caps, in most cases they are placed when a tooth has become so broken down that a filling will not restore them so a crown in placed over the top to prevent further damage. The nhs will provide gold or silver crowns for posterior teeth, white crowns are available privately. Some people for whatever reason request gold or silver teeth for front teeth which i think looks nasty!! So really you've answered your question yourself correctly!
It is just a matter of preference.
Do you mean front teeth or back teeth?
There is a difference between two options.
Front gold/silver teeth(crowns) are requested by people who think it's cool or done on people who came from a different country where is no technology to make white porcelain crowns.
back teeth are crowned in gold because it is a best material - it is strong to withhold the force of chewing, it is kind to your gums and it does not show much (unless you an opera singer)
Good dentist in USA always gives patient a choice for the back crowns, with fronts it is default that the crown will be white, unless patient asks for a metal one.
