What is the procedure for a root canal??
Question: Can you tell me the procedure for a root canal step by step? Every little detail .
Answers:
They numb you up, open a hole with a drill, then take really small files to remove the nerves. Then they fill the hole up and hand you the bill. It feel as nice as petting a kitten...
Open your mouth really, really wide.
Strike your face repeatedly with the claw end of a hammer.
Then mail pictures to all the dentists who perform root canals and tell them this is what they will look like if they hurt you.
It's fairly simple. They will numb you (you should have no feeling in this particular tooth since the nerve is dead), cut into your gums, remove the roots, and place tube-like structures to fill in for the missing roots. These tube-like structures prevent bacteria from coming back and spreading. You will probably also need to take some antibiotic or clean the area throughly.
It's not all that different from getting a tooth filled. I have had two of them.
You usually need a root canal because your tooth root has become infected - which makes it very painful! They drill down into it, clean it out, and then fill it up. In the process they kill the nerve in your tooth so you will never feel pain in the tooth again.
The whole process is not as terrible and painful as you always hear. As I said, it's not much different than getting a tooth filled except it takes a little longer.
The only drawback is that it's expensive!!! I think each one of mine was a shade over $1000.
Zackary -- I have never heard of a root canal as you describe. They don't cut into your gum to get to the root. They drill down through the top of your tooth. And nothing is inserted to replace the root. The root stays intact. They simply drill out the infected area inside it and then fill it as they would a regular tooth (except they use a different material).
You get up take a shower put your clothes on . eat a pop tart brush your teeth. still with me? OK go get in your car put the key in the switch. turn key start car . now drive to the dentist office .sit for about an hour and wait the doctor is all way,s behind. time when the nurse call,s your name get up go in the office .sit down in the chair . still with me? you will get about three shot,s of Novocaine.in about 15 min the dentist will come in and ask you if your tooth is numb you say yes but i,m scared to death. i think i just wet my pant,s ,he will get a pair of for sup,s and pull the tooth and scrape the bone where the tooth was setting then he replaces the tooth and to marrow morning you will say what the He-- was i thinking. hope this help,s BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT. P.S. be careful backing out of the drive way.
