Teeth? somethings wrong??
Question: Wisdom teeth?
My wisdom tooth could be infected. Every time i touch my tongue to it i get a gross smell in my mouth. Also the middle of it doesn't look right. If left long enough, could this give you health problems and if so what? Is this tooth infected? What type of health problems could this bring on spefically? I have a dental appt tommorow.
Answers: From what you are describing it sounds like food and bacteria have lodged around the tooth causing the foul odor. The dark spot could be stain or it could be a cavity, and yes it could be into the nerve. Do you notice any swelling or pain? Those are also indicators of an abscess. If an abscess is left untreated it can become systemic, meaning it can affect your whole body.
Some surgeons recommend their patients get a full dental check-up prior to any major surgeries.
Get the wisdom tooth taken care of sooner than later, it will also be easier and healthier for you if you do.
It could effect your whole mouth! Most people don't realize that leaving an infected tooth in their mouth is much much worse then just getting it pulled! It could cause damage to your other teeth and your gums.Try rinsing your mouth with salt water, which will help with the swelling and pain if you have any. Also, don't eat on that side.
Good luck and take care.
