Is it normal for braces to cause chancres and what not??

Question: like have you ever had a wire stick out of a bracket near your canines, and it basically makes a hole in your cheek?
and have they ever made some veins in your cheeks stick out more, like they're redder and stuff?
whats your experience with the pain of braces?
Answers: Those things can definitely happen. If it's just a little wire, try bending it back into place with a tweezers. Sometimes that helps. Also, you should have received dental wax when you got your braces. Don't be afraid to use it when you need it. Finally, warm salt rinses are a godsend to braces wearers! Try one every night before bed, especially if you have an area that's bothering you.
Yes!
I now have braces and I get tons of chancres plus, when my power chain breaks, I get really sore red spots in my mouth, totally normal!
Try asking your orthodontist for some wax. ive had the holes in my cheeks because i personally didnt like the wax but i learned to deal with the chancres. they eventually went away after my braces were removed.
yes yes yes yes and the only thing i can say is WAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, yes and yes. The worst is when i smile to wide and my inner cheeks get caught on the bottom hooks and tears the skin.

It also hurts (depending on how i slept) when the braces leave an imprint on my inner cheeks and bruises the skin.

It really hurts when something gets stuck and i have to floss it out...that is quite a task....actually flossing on the whole is cumbersome, even though i use the Oral B super floss.

And when i get tightened, i would use Anbesol and it would help temporarily but it would numb the area around my entire mouth and that could be uncomfortable.

Other than that, i guess we've done this for the purrrfect smile, so CHEERS!!! :)
