Dentistry??
Question: i wanna become a dentist does anyone know what you do in school to becaome a dentist?
Answers: I teach at Univ of the Pacific, Dental School. You need basic science prereqs. Biology, physiology, chemistry, but admissions likes to see that you have a diverse background (I took astronomy, history of rock music...stuff like that). Definitely take at least 1 or several art classes. Dentistry is about sculpture. Too many students get to the school with brainiac info and zero hand skills. You'll be way ahead to take art. Take Latin if offered. It helps on test in anatomy, etc., when you need to figure out an answer. Your college/univ, should have a list of requirements for a preprofessional degree
I don't know If I can answer your question easily... The best source on all things to do with oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as specialist dentistry, is to go to http://dentalimplantsaustralia.com . This site has all the best information on wisdom teeth, orthodontics, implant dentistry, as well as things to do with oral medicine, oral pathology, jaw correction surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, mucosal diseases, tumours, cysts, and reconstruction surgery. There are also other parts on post-operative care, medications, material types, as well as explanations on Medicare. It is an Australian site, but I highly recommend it for everyone.
Good luck with finding out what you are looking for!
