Wisdom tooth??

Question: is it normal for a wisdom tooth coming through to give you so much pain?the whole side of my face aches and i cant chew food or open my mouth wide without pain!!!
Answers: Yes its normal;
Very normal that is why most people have them removed.
yes i'm afriad so cut some apple slices and chew on them they help break the gum
Yes for some it is and you can have your wisdom teeth pulled to prevent you from having anymore discomfort. The dentist could even prescribe something for you if needed. I know with mine an icepack helped against my face and the pain eventualkly goes away. Most people get them removed so you may have to eventually too. Painfree days ahead!
OMG you are joking!
I have got one on it's way through, there is only a tiny bit *** through so far, now you have said that. . . im dreading the rest of the tooth coming through!!
The 'good' news is that these are normal symptoms. Mine were as bad as yours; I couldn't close my mouth properly at times! Go to your dentist and ask to be referred to your hospital. The hospital can remove them under a general anaesthetic and when I had mine out, I felt very little pain afterwards. And got a week off work!

In the meantime, take ibuprofen (if you are not asthmatic) for the pain and swelling, and rinse out your mouth with salt water.
You maybe have an infection around the site where the tooth is growing if its that sore. Try to make an appointment with your dentist - you might need antibiotics x
It would be a great ideal to have it removed since the pain is strong. I would suggest having them all removed at once. It's the best way to go. It may seem overwhelming but it's really not that bad and I have a low tolerance for pain.
it sounds like you might have an absess while its been pushing its way through
yeah it is normal, i used to work as a dental nurse, people get refered to hospital to have them taken out
sometimes it does hurt...intake some milkshakes and mashed potatoes and pudding and ice cream and other soft things for a few days until the swelling goes down and the tooth erupts thru the gum...rub your tongue over the area gently to help it erupt thru...next time you see your dentist, talk to the dentist about the tooth...may want to do new xrays to see if roots are straight, etc.
if you have fever with this...call the dentist for advice
I'd get your wisdom teeth pulled if I were you. When my wisdom teeth came in I was in excruciating pain. It got so bad that I went to the emergency room 5 times in one month. None of the pain medication that they gave me worked. The only thing that took away the pain was getting them pulled.
im afraid so,mouth rinses will help keep it clean which is very important or it may get worse. good luck with it.
Yes it is quite common for wisdeom teeth to be very painful.
See a dentist to make sure that they are coming through correctly, you may need to have them pulled out.
I assume it depends on the size of your jaw? My wisdom teeth came through when I was about 18, and there was no problem. I still have them now.....30 odd years on!
