Drinking with a Tongue piercing.??

Question: Okay, so I got my tongue pierced Yesterday, and wanted to know if I would be okay, if I drank on new years. It never even crossed my mind that it might be a problem to after I did it. What do you think?
Answers: just no beer, you can have anything else you want.
you'll be fine i've had mine pierced 3 times
The biggest thing you have to be careful of when drinking is getting a yeast infection. DO NOT drink beer! Stick to hard liquor (ilke vodka) and you'll be just fine.
you cant drink beer or wine for a few weeks because of yeast.. and liquor should be okay .. even beer i did it but then i remembered and got worried.. nothing happend tho .. but yeah .. just brush ur teeth inthe morn or w.e
as i have a friend who had a piercing in their mouth area done i could suggest something as an answer...
well drinking after getting a piercing is certainly not recommended as the wound is still open and any kind of bacteria can get in, even more so when drinking...i mean you could try drinking through a straw avoiding the tongue as much as possible...
however, my friend as i mentioned before, drank after getting the piercing and swelling occured which lasted about 3 days, so i wouldn't risk it..the swelling wont appear straight away, but the next day/a few hours later...
well good luck!!

PS: and try to drink straight alcohol and especially no beer...
I drank the next day afterwards. I did swell up but not that bad. But everyone is different. If you drink beer rinse your mouth with moutwash good before bed to help reduce risk of the yeast in beer causing an infection. But it is unlikely. But the cotton mouth associated with hang overs could also cause an infections so first thing in the morning rinse with mouth was imediately!! which will also help with bad alcohol breath. Another thing to keep in mind is if your tonque is bleeding still which is highly unlikely but if it is alcohol thins your blood ultimately causing you to bleed more. Oh yeah and keep an eye on the swelling of your tongue throughout the night. If swelling gets bad quit drinking immediately. HAPPY NEW YEAR have a FUN and SAFE New Year!!!

After searching the web I found a cool page on the myths of body peircings read it one of the myths is that beer can cause a yeast infection.
With a fresh piercing if you drink it could burn.
