The 5 surfaces of the teeth??

Question: Ok, im having some trouble with the 5 surfaces of the teeth. I know there is the Buccal, Mesial, Lingual, Occlusal, and Distal. And the Lingual Occlusal and Buccal stay the same. But at the sideline im told that the mesial and distal are opposite. And this is just comfusing me. Because i gotta think of the teeth as being upside down, no just normal. So if youll have any helpfull says or something to help me get this i would appreciate it! Thank you so much
Answers: Mesial is toward the midline, distal is away from the midline, buccal is always toward the cheek (weather on the top or bottom) , lingual is toward the tounge on the bottom and palatal is toward the palate (palatal = palate). Occlusal is the biting surface of the molar and premolar teeth ( the teeth you chew with when eating) occlusal for the front teeth is referred to as incisal. I am a dental Assistant and I hope I haven't confused you more.

Think of distal as being the side most distant from the midline.
All i could say is good lucke with that one. All i know about is the enamel and when sweets rot it u have a cavity. CXC biology taught me that.
I'm a little confused about what your question is, but this is the way I see it is: all the sides closest to the midline of the mouth (in between the central incisors) are mesial, all the sides furthest away from the midline are distals.
