No more braces??

Question: I am getting my braces off in a few weeks. But the orthodontist left a gap around one tooth because it was so small and it needs to be bonded? or filled? or something along those lines. I'm not really sure what that means. Can someone explain that process to me, and could you let me know how much it might cost?

ps. I love in south florida if location means anything.
Answers: They want to fill your teeth in so your jaw will aline correctly, cause once your braces come off, depending on what your mouth was before, the jaw want to naturely mess itself up again. Its most likely benifical.

I Love south flordia too ha ha
I just had mine off and was told the exact same thing. I have a gap on each side where the teeth just would not come together. Can't afford bonding because that is cosmetic and NOT covered by any insurance. I will just suffer with just the retainer for the rest of my life. (they told me to wear it until I die) Hopefully my teeth will stay put. Bonding can be beautiful though. Good luck!

ps......wish I were in south florida right now and not freezing Kentucky!!
You are my twin. I need bonding because my teeth are too small and I have a gap. Most likely they will add a fake tooth or along those lines to fill the gap. I don't know how much it would cost for you because every orthodontist is different. Here is my orthodontist's website and has a small video of bonding. Good Luck!!!!!
