DENTAL QUESTION! Is a deep cleaning really necessary??
Question: I have an appointment for a deep cleaning on Thursday and I have heard that it hurts like he**. I have mixed feelings toward dentists because I feel like they are part doctor, part quacks. So I just want to know if it is worth the $200 I have to pay, or if it is not necessary. Thank you.
Answers: Deep cleaning in the right situations, is very necessary to remove tartar, toxins, and granulation tissue (like a scab in themouth). That being said, many dentists use deep cleaning as a quick way to make a buck. In order to need deep cleaning, you need to have attachment loss . In other words, more root structure must be exposed below the level of the gum. Many dentist's hygienists will embellish the probings done, especially if it has been a while since you've been to the dentist or have alot of build up. I hate to say this about my profession, but I question the need for deep cleaning (root planing), in many instances. I might be able to give you more info if I knew, how long it's been since you've been to the dentist? How old are you? Has either of your parents required periodontal work? History of braces? Habits regarding floss?
The deep cleaning is very healthy and will prevent gum disease as well as cavities. Plaque builds up at the base of a tooth. If it is not removed, your gums will recede and your teeth will develop caries. It is not painful. Yes, it is worth $200. and you will love to run your tongue over your teeth after this very thorough cleaning. Gum disease is very painful and can cause the loss of your teeth.
yes it's necessary because if u don't take care of your teeth it''s going to make your jaws weaker and painful IMPORTANT THING- don't brush your teeth hard because it takes off the white part of your teeth...and u have to pay alot so brush your teeth politely and gently..keep taking care of your teeth or else in future u r going to have bad teeth problems
it is necessary because it will removed the food between your teeth and gums and it help you to prevent gingivitis.
it depends on if you have gum pockets
