In the UK can you register with more then one dentist, is it allowed??
Question: I am registered with 2 dentists so far, is this legal, i cant find anywhere where it says its not allowed, anyone know anything about this? thanks.
Answers: From April 1st 2006 new nhs dental contracts came into force meaning that you no longer have to register with a dentist to receive NHS dental treatment, this means you are entitled to approach any nhs dental surgery and ask if they have any nhs appointments available.
However it is best to remain with one dental surgery as they will have all your personal details and notes on file and each time you go to another surgery a whole new set of notes have to be made up for you.
It's not illegal, just a bit unfair, if your a patient at 2 surgeries, you are in theory depriving somebody of an nhs dentist, and as we all know trying to find an nhs dentist is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, stick to one surgery and let somebody else have a fair crack of the whip!!!
You can see as many as you like.
yes it is legal.IWhy wouldnt it be?Your not doing anything wrong you will get the same treatment from both anyway.
I also have 2. Why on earth would it be illegal? Robbing some one of an appointment.
Yeah, not fair really. I had no idea ppl did this - no wonder neither me or my 12yr old son can get a dentist!!
You are lucky its nearly impossible to find one bloody dentist in the UK dude!!
