Can a severe toothache be dangerous??
Question: Say your dentist tells you that it is caused by an infection in a tooth and recommends antibiotics until the treatment appointment in a couple of days. Say you don't take the antibiotics and continue with the pain, can this be dangerous?
Answers: Yes. And when they go to anesthetize you for the procedure, you will be unable to get numb. What type of antibiotic were you given? If it was a penicillin derivative, you may need a stronger antibiotic. I would worry if you were given Erythromyacin or Clindamyacin. If you were given one of the latter, go to the hospital!
Yes, the infection can spread.
