Professional whitening??
Question: one of the items i asked for for xmass (my stepmother wants our lists by tomorrow cuz she does things early) is professional teeth whitening but my dad asked why i would put a painful thing on the list. i didnt know it was painful i thought it was just like the crest white strips only super intense...can someone walk me through the procedure (from personal experience not something you googled thanks!) does it hurt and is it a once in an office type thing or do they make a solution for you to use at home...thanks
Answers: OK, heres the deal with teeth whitening done at a dentist, I'm assuming your having Zoom done. You go into the dentists first for a consult to ensure your teeth are in the right shape to bleach. Then, you are 'dressed' which takes 10 minutes or so with gauze around your mouth to protect it from the bleach. The bleach is then applied and the process starts. The only time throughout the procedure it might be uncomfortable is towards the end. Your teeth may get a little sensitive as the pores are being opened, however, this pain shouldn't be anything too severe! Otherwise, you may get a little pain if the gauze moves and the bleach might burn your gum. This happens occasionally, but shouldn't be too severe. If it hurts, your dentist or assistant will shift the gauze where you point. Hope that helps you, good luck! The results are well worth sitting still and being a little uncomfortable!
