Help! Am I Ok??

Question: I have been on Clyndomicin for a day now. I was on Pen, then Amox, and now Clyndomicin for a abcsess tooth infection. Not an abscess that you can see but, one you can FEEL! It is horrible! I am going on the 10th, to see if my dentist's filler can do anything for me, and if not, I have to stay on the Clyndomicin and wait for my appmt on the 23rd. I just want to know if there are any side effects like drowsiness or head stuffiness... because that's how I'm feeling right now, however, that could just be from the stress of the pain and over computer use the last week. I never have any symptoms from antibiotics. Please, only professional or honest opinions here. I can't handle any horror stories please. Thank you for your help.

If you stop and think about it , everything in the face is kinda connected. The nose, ears, mouth, teeth, throat. As far as the drowsiness it could be an effect of the antibiotic and if the Dr. prescribed a pain killer it will cause drowsiness. The head stuffiness could be a sinus infection although with the antibiotics you are taking should have killed those germs. I would think it is probably b/c of all the medicines that you have taken lately. I am sorry to here about the absess and know how horrible they feel. That is a long time to wait for an appt.
OK, there are a few side affects with antibiotics. Usually digestive related- nausea, diarrhea, cramping. Drowsiness and head stuffiness are not usual side effects. You may be getting a sinus infection if the infection is on one of your top teeth, towards the back. Still, it could be a cold or a secondary infection due to your immune system being compromised due to the abscess. Keep taking the prescription, and see your dentist when you have your appointment. It takes a few days for the antibiotic to work effectively, do hang in there.
