If you brush your teeth too many times do they get damaged??

Question: I heard from a mate that it can, is this true?
Answers:
It can. Brush your teeth three times a day and that's ok.
it can damage the gums and cause them too recede. My dentist asked me are you right handed? I said yes and asked her how she knew. She said cos that side of my gums is more receded than the other. She suggested using a softer toothbrush if i brush too often
The enamel of your teeth is the strongest bone. Maybe if you brushed them 24 hours a day for your life, but for the most part no it wont. It's more of a myth.
Well, the answer is yes and no. First off, if you brush your teeth the corrrect way it will not damage your teeth. You must use a soft bristle tooth-brush and brush in a circular motion at a 45 degree angle towards the gum-line. Also, brush softly. Think of your gums as something very sensitive on your body. You know what I'm talking about...and imagine brushing it with something hard or medium-bristled. It would hurt right, or at least be uncomfortable. Well, that 's the way your gums are. They will start to receed if you continue to aggravate them and eventually cause other annoying problems that you don't even want to know about.
