How often should you get a new toothbrush??

Question: My friends mom told me that I am crazy for using a toothbrush for two weeks then throwing it away. Is it bad to do this? I just find toothbrushes gross after using it for more than a week to be honest. But, I stretch it to two just because. So, is it alright to get a new one as often as I do?
Answers: Every 3-6 months, after an illness (flu, cold, ect...) or if the bristles are splayed/worn down.

Here is the thing about toothbrushes, if you are using the kind with nylon bristles (which most ppl. do) you don't have to worry too much about bacteria. Nylon bristles do not absorb water, so it is not an ideal place for bacteria to live. If you use a natural toothbrush, then you should probably worry, because most natural toothbrushes are made from Boar's hair, which do infact absorb water and are a breeding ground for bacteria.

One of my dental hygiene instructors recommends having two toothbrushes, one for the morning and one for the evening. She said you should allow your toothbrush to completely dry before you use it again.

And yes, it is completely fine getting a new toothbrush as often as you do! Some people are just germaphobes! Make sure you are buying a nylon soft bristled toothbrush, though.
i have always gotten a new one at 6 months
I heard to change them ever 6 months, but its up to you
every month
Don't worry what others think. I don't do every two week, but monthly and any time I have been sick. Do what is right for you.
If you have had gum disease and recent dentist visit you need to change out the toothbrush. Never use other people's toothbrushes. When the toothbrush you have starts to wear out then get another one.
It is recommended that you replace your toothbrush every 6 months. If you purchase a toothbrush with a blue (or whatever the colour circle is in the center of the brush) when the colour starts to disappear (within the 6 months) well, this is a REALLY good time to buy a new toothbrush.

Hope this helps : )
6 months is the normal time.
As often as u want can cause no harm.
If the bristles of your toothbrush frays, its time to change. Also apply less strength while brushing else gums will be hurt. Else if toothbrush still intact, change every 3 months. In-between, soak brush every week for 3 minutes to kill germs. Heard and read the information somewhere. Hope it helps. :-)
I always buy a new toothbrush every month. I'm real picky about my toothbrush as soon as it gets a little wear on it I throw it out and buy a new one.
It does no harm to your mouth by getting a new one every 2 weeks, only harm to your wallet!
I would say every 3 months, but usually the bristles will show the wear, indicating when to get a new toothbrush.
