Why don't we permanently kill the bacteria in our mouths that causes tooth decay??
Question: like the bacteria that cause plaque, why not take like some kind of an antibacterial (penicillin?) or something to actually eradicate all the bacteria living in our mouths?

Its not possible to kill all the bacteria in ur mouth. n not all bacteria in ur mouth r bad. the plaque matrix that the bacteria forms on ur teeth also helps u in some ways. for example whn there is leeching of minerals frm ur teeth, tis plaque retains tis minerals n helps in remineralistion whn the pH of ur saliva is back to the normal level. so instead of thinkin of such things jus make sure u brush n floss well, jus the way u bathe to keep ur body clean. even if u rinse ur mouth wif chlorhexidine, the bacteria would proliferate again after some time.
u gotta be kidding. if u destroy all the bacterial fauna, u'll be harming urself. the bacteria that are in ur mouth keep the bad bacteria away . they make some vitamins,enzymes that are required for normal functioning of the body. if u kill them , u could be facing serious problems
