If you're 15 and currently living in the US does your doctor have to tell your parents about STDs??
Question: My best friend made a mistake and had sex with a guy once. About a week later she started experiencing symptoms of an STD that is easily treatable but requires a prescription by her doctor. Her parents are very religous and she is afraid to talk to them about it. If she goes to the doctor will her doctor tell her parents? We've tried just about every other way and I'm worried that if she doesn't get treatment soon her condition could worsen. If you're going to call her a whore or say that maybe she shouldn't have had sex in the first place, please don't bother answering. This is a serious question.

Call a planned parenthood in your area and ask them if all visits are confidential.
Make sure you tell her to pick up some condoms when she goes... I think they give them out for free there.
If the treatment requires a perscription, then her parents will have to be notified. Under aged minors can not purchase perscription drugs.
Sorry. I know it's going to be tough, but she needs to confront the issue with her parents and get treatment as soon as possible.

Well lets see...Your Friend was not responsible in the first place and now you want to be even more irresponsible by not telling her parents. I think you know what the smart thing to do is. If they are Christian parents they will forgive her the same way Christ forgives us.
I'm not sure if they'll tell or not, but she needs to get medical treatment...tell parents she got it from the school bathroom, or from borrowing someones razor or something...you're at the prime age for creating lies...think of something.
Having an STD is a serious matter that could even lead up to death if not treated properly and immediately. Its a serious problem to have and she SHOULD tell her parents. They should know. She is only 15 and a minor, her parents need to know about whats going on in her life, specially about something so serious as an STD. If it was my daughter I would defnitely wanna know, it would be my RIGHT to know as a mother, just like it´s her parents right to know what her daughter has. Her parents grounding her should be the least of her concerns right now.

Honey, tell your friend that part of being a Christian is loving and caring for your children. I found out a long time ago that good parents may get disappointed by the things we do but they will fight for you and do for you till the bitter end. She may need to sit down with mom first and let mom break the news to dad. what is the worst thing that could happen? they won't kill her jail her or judge her if they are the good parents you say. Remember mom and Dad used to be teens and had to face sexual tempations also. as parents they deserve the chance to help. They will still love you ! You may have cost that will require their help. Always arm your self with protection and birth control. My heart goes out to you and your friend.
if she goes to a clinic then they wont tell but i dont know about a doctor.
If you have a Planned Parent Hood Clinic in your town contact them or your Health Department and ask them if your friend can be treated without her parents permission.I hope so because i know it can be very hard to try and tell your parents something like that.I also don't consider your friend a whore sweetie.She just got with the wrong person and it's sad that they passed it on to your friend.I hope this helps....good luck!
If its easily treatable its probably chlamydia or gonorrhea or something similar. If you go to a panned parent hood and explain your self they will usually give you the drugs on the spot and keep everything hush hush and give you like a garbage bag full of condoms.
