If all you had was a positive tine test you've probably just been exposed to it at some point in the past. The tine test only checks to see if you have antibodies to TB. Most people in the medical field have been exposed to TB after a few years. That doesn't mean you have it. The tine test is just a screening test. A doctor will do further tests to determine if you actually do have the disease.
Yes- otherwise 1 in 3 people worldwide wouldn't be allowed to be doctors. I tested positive before having my BCG and its no big deal- fewer than 10% of people with latent TB will ever develop the disease.
