I crack my fingers often. Is there any adverse effects of cracking fingers? or not??

Question: I hope you know that cracking a finger is?
Answers: Getting arthritis from popping your knuckles is just an old myth that most people still buy into. There are no adverse effects ... other than possibly annoying people around you who hear you doing it.
dont do that , it causes arthritis in between the knuckle and joint.
yes you lose some level of flexibility when you keep doing that
Not sure.

But i have been cracking fingers for years upon years. They feel great and still work. Actually, i find if i don't crack them, my fingers become stiff over time anyway.
that's a very bad habit..
it will result 2 arthritis later on in life..
me too... till yet, no adverse effects... but even my doc suggested that one should not crack his fingers... when i asked him why? he didn't give me a satisfactory answer...
cracking the fingers often does make ur falgella in ur fingers.it may also cause erosion of bones in the later stages of life
some doctors says that in this way you loose uric acid....
i actually heard that it helps u from getting arthritis
I asked the same question when I was in Anatomy and Physiology. My professor’s answer was “no” because it is just the release of carbon dioxide from the joint.
I have been in the medical field for 20 years and you will get some type of Arthritis. I do and i did...it took some years but I sm nearly 49 and my thumbs kill me.
Dont do that. its not good.. and when i used to do so I felt that my fingers are not doing well i used to loose grip coz they were less flexible
I've heard that cracking your knuckles just pushes stuff out of the joint. Like how this person posted it was just carbon dioxide or whatever. But then you have to ask yourself, where does that stuff go? It's probably better not to, but I do it anyways too :D
Nope. that's an old myth. See recent Allure magazine.
by cracking i think you mean popping. If that is what you mean yes it could have ill affects. For 1 it could make your knuckles big and this is murder when buying or wearing any type of rings. When buying a ring you will have to get it over your knuckle then when you do it doesn't fit the rest of your finger. This could also cause arthiritis (spelling is wrong I think) which can make it painful to move your hands or make a fist (just in case you want to beat somebody down) haha! I would advise against it as much as possible I know it's a habit though cause I do it also.
if you'll crack your fingers, you'll get problems in your stomach so don't do it again.
Yes, because cracking the fingers creates hollow spaces between the joints, so in time it can result to arthritis. It is a very bad habbit
