Child birth question, rephrased.??
Question: I have been exploring the issue of abortion and would like to know about how it applies to when it would result in saving the life of the mother. I assure you this is a sincere question.
My question is this: Seeing that the child would need to be removed from the womb whether it is alive or not, does it still make sense that a child would have to lose it's life in order for the mother to retain hers? What I don't understand is how whether the child lives or dies affects the condition of the mother.
Medical professionals are preferred but not necessarily required. If you do work in the medical field, please state your qualifications. This is a clinical question and not a debate on the issue of abortion.
Answers: I recently lost my son, sept 20, 06. He was vaginally born at 11lbs 22in, and died 5 minutes later from suffocation. Personally, there is no reason for abortion...there are C-Sections for that reason...to save both mother and child. I did not get that choice and my son died. I do NOT believe in abortion.
The mother's body is made to support an unborn fetus! The nutrients a baby takes from it's mother are the nutrients the mother puts in her body.
it can affect the condition of the mother because with the baby growing inside of you its taking blood and nutrients and basically you are its life support. taking that baby off of the life support of you, will help you to regain the nutrients and other needs that the baby was taking. i wish you the best. and good luck
Once you have said that ' ...whether it is alive or not...' then you say, ' child would have to lose its life'. It makes it rather confusing. I wish I knew actual diagnosis and the condition of the mother & the foetus.
In some conditions, pregnancy causes so much harm to would be mother's health (or may even threatens life) that decision is to be taken whether to terminate the pregnancy in order to save the patient. It is not easy or pleasant for the doctors as well.
PS- You may try to give add. details in this question only.
I know one situation when the child is aborted is when it is an ectopic pregnancy. In this situation, the baby is developing outside the womb and as it grows both mother and child are at risk. So it makes sense to save at least the mother's life.
I'm not sure of any other situation where an abortion would save the mother's life.
