How quickly does it take for the birth control pill to be absorbed??
Question: yeah like how many hours after you take it is in your system and safe i guess...
Answers: well a few hours to get in the system.
they tell you once week, to be on the safe side
first dose, wait 24 hours for full effect.
if you are taking your first pill, you should wait about 3 or 4 days, but if you've been taking them for a while, its safe for whenever
why? it is not something that you can take and in 2 or 3 hours have sex and be protected..it takes a month or so to be fully functional...

I have been taking birth control for over 4 months now and right after you start taking the pill should be fine...I started taking the pill on a friday and that saturday me and my fiance' had intercourse and everything was fine.......But a few months into taking the pill you may not get your period..DONT FREAK OUT....Just go to the store and buy a test just to be sure...Usually you cannot get pregnant on the pill but there is a 2% chance......Good Luck...Tiffany
Are you talking after you take the pill or before the pill becomes effective. For it to absorb on a daily basis they say if you throw up before 1/2 hour after taking it - if its longer then that you should be ok. They say you are safe after a week after starting it but reccommend waiting until your next period before not using back up. I think this is mostly because you are not used to taking them and could forget
