Question for you ladies about birth control and how it may affect sex drive??
Question: So... my wife is 23 and has claimed she has never had a sex drive. I met her when she was 19. Previous to me, she had plenty of boyfriends and did have some experience . She had no feelings like that back then either.
I've heard birth control can seriously affect a women's hormones. She has consistently been on the pill since she was 15, with only a 2 month break when she was 19 (right before she met me). Do any of you women think it's possible that the pill can impact her sex drive to the point that it's non-existant?
2nd question: If changing her birth control pill or switching to some other type of birth control doesn't work, is it possible she has a chemical imblance that a pill could fix?

Answers: I was on the pill at age 17 and only off to have my 2 children. I think it does do something to your sex drive. I have been to a few different doctors and they kept changing mine and it would either make it worse or make me feel worse! I hated being on the pill. I have been off of it for 6 months due to other problems and I actually feel better and sex is better for me! I dont' know I am not a doctor, and everyone is different if I were her I would check with a good ob/gyn and see if that is the cause or not. There are other things that can affect your libido like stress, depression, or some underlying medical issue...she needs to check it out. I think it is great that you are concerned enough to ask about it, talk to her about it and keep talking...I hope you find the answer....sometimes us women do get bored in the bedroom too and need a little romance and different things to help us get back in the mood of things...luckily I have a husband who is good at communication and we talk about those things and he has helped to re spark that fire too....Good Luck!
Has she talked to her OB/GYN? She would have to go in and see him or her once a year to get her prescription renewed. She needs to bring this up. It may depend on what specific pill she is on.
